Shanghai plans to issue preferential travel coupons to attract Beijing tourists during the 2010 World Expo.
The coupons will be offered as part of a "Classical Shanghai: 1930-2010" theme promotion and give holders discounts on public transportation, entrance fees at scenic spots and sports matches, restaurants, hotels and shops.
The city's tourism authorities say the travel coupons are in form of a travel card that was made available on July. The card will offer visitors from Beijing an up to 40 percent discount on specific tourist attractions.
